The first step in getting Morpheus8 in Miami is to contact us and schedule your consultation. When you come in for your appointment, you will meet with Dr. Z and he will examine your skin. You will be able to ask any questions you have, express your desires for the treatment, and get his expert opinion. Dr. Z will also ask you about your medical history, so it’s important to be open and honest when discussing this with him to avoid any unnecessary risks. Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive procedure that is quickly and simply performed in the office. A high-grade numbing ointment is applied to the target area and allowed to sit for 30 – 60 minutes. The areas are then cleansed and Dr. Zhuravsky begins the treatment. Patients are also given the option of using our Nitronox system during the procedure. The device handpiece is pressed against the skin as it very rapidly delivers radiofrequency through its array of microneedles. This is repeated until the target area is fully treated to the desired extent. A very thin layer of a light ointment is applied and patients can go home.
The downtime after Morpheus8 is very minimal, ranging from 1 to 4 days, and depends on the type of treatment performed. In most cases, there is a notable redness during the first 1-2 days, similar to that of a sunburn, but this fades quickly over the next few days. There may also be some mild peeling / dry skin that is more often experienced with the superficial resurfacing type treatments.
Patients are asked to avoid any harsh cleansers or ointments during the first few days. We encourage patients to wash the treated area with either tepid water and/or a gentle wash like Cerave.
Patients are also asked to use a mild moisturizer that can be as simple as plain Aquaphor, or other topicals with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, etc …. However, AVOID any topicals that contain the following:
If in doubt, bring your moisturizer in for Dr. Z to evaluate and approve. Also AVOID exercise, excess sun exposure, and swimming for 48 hours following treatment. Makeup can be applied after 48-72 hours, depending on the extent of treatment.
