Deep plane facelift with extended neck approach for our patient in her 50’s was used to enhance this patient’s natural appearance. This was a revision as she had a “mini” facelift a few years prior. An oblique neck like this is very hard to treat and may not always yield such great results, as it depends on the position of the trachea (wind pipe). I was very pleased to find the trachea and hyoid bone in a favorable anatomic position. This allowed me to remove the deep fat under the platysma, then anchor the neck muscle itself to the hyoid bone, creating this nice neck line.
